Another “Before” Picture

Filed under: Maplewild Farm — Robert @ 20:19

The other side of the yard saw some plow action and now it is up to me to get it happening. I am getting a little later start than I wanted to, but the weather has not been too typical this year. This area sees lots of sun so the tomato plants will find a place here.

Fresh Start

Time to prepare the ground for some action. This section of ground is on the east side of my yard and it gets a bit of shade but is still useful for growing.

Spring is Here

Filed under: Maplewild Farm — Robert @ 20:36

It has been a busy time here these days. I was able to burn off the old forest slash a few weeks ago. I have also been creating the garden plan for this year. Part of the plan has been starting seeds.Tomato Seedlings

Also in checking the existing garden, I found the overwintered collard greens beginning to flower. I also noticed that the bugs have given these a pass so far…..

The garlic that I planted last fall has taken off already.

So far things are proceeding according to plan. Of course, the season is young.

Spring?

Filed under: Maplewild Farm — Robert @ 19:54

As much of the country is freezing their buttons off, things here have warmed up considerably. It got up to 57º today! It seems early to think that spring could be arriving early, but winter came early here, so maybe it is true.
I went out and looked over the garden and my garlic is coming up already. Garlic
